PEST CONTROL

Bees & Wasps Control in Toronto & the GTA

Wasps and bees can be aggressive when disturbed and their stings pose serious allergy risks. Our technicians safely remove nests from eaves, attics, decks, and underground — using eco-friendly methods that protect beneficial pollinators wherever possible.

OUR APPROACH

How We Eliminate Bees & Wasps

Locate and Identify

We find the nest and identify the species first. Paper wasps, yellowjackets and honeybees behave differently and warrant different handling — honeybee colonies we try to have relocated rather than destroyed.

Treat at Dusk

Colonies are treated when the full population is inside and least active, which is at dusk. Treating a nest mid-afternoon leaves foragers alive and scatters an aggressive colony across your property.

Seal the Cavity

The nest is removed and the cavity it occupied is sealed. Colonies die at first frost, but new queens overwinter nearby and re-use the same sheltered voids — sealing is what stops the annual repeat.

How to Identify Bees & Wasps

Wasp nests are papery and grey, often shaped like an upside-down teardrop, and are typically found under eaves, in sheds, or underground. Honeybee colonies form structured wax combs, usually inside wall voids or hollow trees, with a steady stream of bees at a single entry point.

Seasonal Behaviour in Ontario

In Ontario, wasp colonies grow through summer and peak in size by late August and September, when workers become more aggressive as the colony's food needs shift from protein to sugar. Nests die off naturally after the first hard frost, but new queens overwinter and start fresh colonies each spring.

DIY or Call a Professional?

A small paper wasp nest in an out-of-the-way spot can sometimes be left alone or removed at dusk with store-bought spray. A nest near a doorway, a yellowjacket nest in a wall void, or any nest near someone with a venom allergy should be treated by a professional — yellowjackets can sting repeatedly and often nest inside structures where DIY spray can't reach the colony.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Bees & Wasps Control — Questions We Get

Do you kill honeybees?

Not if it can be avoided. Honeybees are important pollinators and a true honeybee colony is worth relocating rather than destroying. We identify the species before treating and will tell you if what you have is actually a wasp, which is far more common in wall voids and under eaves.

Why does a nest come back to the same spot every year?

Because the location is good, not because the old colony survived. Wasp colonies die off after the first hard frost, but fertilised queens overwinter nearby and look for the same kind of sheltered cavity in spring. Removing the nest solves this season; sealing the void is what prevents the repeat.
